Messerschmitt Bf 109
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was one of the true modern fighters of it's era. Designed by Willy Messerschmitt in the early 1930s with some interesting features such as an all metal monocoque construction and a closed canopy.
The Bf 109 was produced an large quantities more than any other fighter aircraft in history. The Bf 109 was flown by a number of top scoring fighter aces such as Erich Hartman and Günther Rall.
