Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5a

 

The SE5a a British biplane fighter aircraft develpoped by the Royal Aircraft Factory.

Early examples reached the Western Front before the Sopwith Camel. Engine problems left a sortage of SE5a well into 1918, but along with the Camel Air Superiority was gained and maintained though the rest of the war.

The above painting shows a lone SE5a from 85 Squadron.
