Wg Cmdr DCT Bennett RAF leads 10 Squadron Halifax MkII aircraft from RAF Leeming north to RAF Lossiemouth to raid the German battleship Tirpitz that is anchored in the Norwegian fiords. Wg Cmdr
Bennett was shot down on the raid 27th/28th April 1942 flying ZA-U which was remarked as ZA-B
for the raid, Wg Cmdr Bennett made it back escaping through Sweden and became the founder of the PFF.
